FRENCH WINES

  • Barry & Fitzwilliam have been representing J M Cazes Family wineries for many years. These iconic award winning wines from the Cazes family have been performing at the highest level for generations throughout the world. We are very proud to bring these wines to the Irish market. Thomas Lynch was a descendant of the tribes of Galway. His father John emigrated in 1691 from Galway, Ireland to Bordeaux, inherited an estate in the village of Bages through his wife Elizabeth in 1749. This year represents the foundation of Chateau-Lynch-Bages, which Thomas passed to his son, Jean-Baptiste, upon his marriage in 1779.
  • Chateau Villa Bel-Air is located in Saint-Morillon in the heart of the “Graves” appellation. After a long dormant period, the property was bought in 1988 by Jean-Michel Cazes and his family. From this date they completely restructured the vineyards and the technical installations. Today, Chateau Villa Bel-Air produces a red and a white wine that are both typical of the terroir and their grape varieties. Furthermore, they perfectly illustrate the finesse and complexity of Graves wines.  As Robert Parker says – Siginficant efforts have been made to improve the property and fashion high-quality wines. This Graves is making waves in the wine world.
  • These wines are from the Vin De Pay D’ OC in France. Fantastic value for money, easy drinking enjoyable wines with a classic  embossed bottle. Available in a range of varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
  • The Guigal family own vineyards in Condrieu and in the Cote-Rotie with illustrious plots. Rated as the best wine maker in the world, the wines of Guigal have stood the test of time with regards to consistency and value for money. In the cellars of the Guigal estate in Ampuis, the northern appellations of the Rhône Valley are produced and aged.  The great appellations of the Southern Rhône are also aged in the Ampuis cellars. From his basic Cotes-du-Rhone to his star Cote Roties, Marcel Guigal has shown what stunning wines can be produced in the Rhone Valley and in doing so has become a household name in the world of wine.Marcel Guigal was awarded The Decanter Magazine Man of the Year, 2006. Renowned Wine Writer Jancis Robinson writes of Marcel Guigal “Marcel Guigal is the most important Winemaker on the planet” Philippe Guigal is now carrying on the proud tradition.
  • Burgundy is the region of very small estates, producing tiny quantities of often sublime and exquisite red and white wines. Francois Faiveley firmly believes in low yields, giving the grapes concentrated goodness. All the grapes are hand picked and the Premier and Grand Cru’s are bottled by hand. Domaine Faivelely is famous for its great red and white wines made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune are in the Cote d’Or province where the top wines are produced. Faiveley wines are sold in the finest restaurants in France and worldwide.
  • A small family-run business the Mazurds make a fantastic Cotes-du-Rhone Cuvee Mazurka that has been aged in oak for at least 5 years. The wine is spicy from the dominant Grenache grape variety and is soft and mellow from being aged in wood. It has won a medal in the Macon wine fair.
  • A French wine created by Thierry Boudinaud, a renowned winemaker who had crafted wines California to Chile to South Africa, is named after a British expression describing a particularly rich and full wine. Sourced from select vineyards throughout the Laguedo-Roussillon, known for its stony soil which naturally limits yields and lends a fresh, fruit forward character and mature tannins

It is one of the great wines of the Pauillac, and thanks to its owner produces wines equivalent to at least 2nd growth.
