Vaccari Sambuca is an Italian liqueur known in many drinking traditions. It is a sweet, strong liqueur whose base consists of essential oils extracted through steam distillation of the seeds from the star anise, conferring upon the fruit a strong aroma of anise, which is soluble in the pure state.
To this whole is added a concentrated solution of sugar and other natural aromas, of which Vaccari jealously guards the recipe. They are the secret ingredients, which make the taste of Vaccari Sambuca unique.
Vaccari Sambuca can be thinned with water or can be drunk as a flambé, after chewing up two coffee beans.
