Pol Roger made his first wine sale in 1849 and the business is one of the few Grande Marque houses that is still privately owned.

It is famous particularly for its Rose Champagne and the non-vintage Brut Reserve, also known as Whitefoil, is very popular with traditionalists. It has a delicate and rich taste with very little acidity. The nose is rich and full-bodied with a fresh clean taste.

Winston Churchill made this house famous as he drank nothing else, so a top-of-the-range cuvee has been made in his honour.

Among other Awards, Pol Roger Extra Cuvee de Reserve Champagne 1999 was most recently awarded 4 stars in a Decanter panel tasting for Vintage Champagne.
